What is the address of the venue?
Highlands House at 8500 CA-9, Ben Lomond, CA 95005
What is the wedding day itinerary?
The ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM sharp, followed by a cocktail hour and the reception, which is anticipated to wrap around 10:00 PM.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Our late-afternoon ceremony and dinner will be outdoors, while cocktail hour and dancing will take place indoors. Guests will walk to the ceremony on brick-paved pathways, but will need to walk on a grassy lawn for both the ceremony and dinner service. For that reason, stiletto or otherwise-thin heels are not recommended. Plan for a warm summer evening, as this is a public/county park facility with no air conditioning.
What is the dress code?
Dressy Casual: Aim for the intersection of looking sharp but feeling comfortable. Dress for a WARM evening in the sun. The wedding party will set the tone for attire with bridesmaids in mid-length dresses and groomsmen in suits (jackets-on only for ceremony). Nice jeans are acceptable, but please no shorts, sneakers, or flip flops. Note that the ceremony and dinner will be held on a grassy lawn - no stilettos, ladies! The dance floor will be indoors.
What should I bring?
Ideas to consider: Tissues (if you're a crier like Ellen), fan to stay cool, sun hat and/or sunscreen, jacket to stay warm, and dancing shoes!
Is there parking available near your wedding venue?
There is parking available at the venue - see venue map below. "Event Parking" spaces are specifically reserved for the wedding. "Public Parking" spots are first come first serve. Please consider carpools and ride shares for safe rides home.
Can I leave my vehicle at the venue overnight?
The park asks that vehicles are not left overnight, especially as they cannot be responsible for items left overnight. If guests unexpectedly need to leave their vehicle, they will be locked in the park after the wedding reservation ends at midnight, and the gate will be reopened Saturday morning.
Do you have advice for driving the mountain roads?
Watch for animals and bicyclists. Take it slow and use turnouts to pull over when the cars behind you want to go faster, especially on Bear Creek Road.
Can I get a Lyft or Uber in the mountains?
Yes, but ride shares are limited and not always readily available. Plan to be patient or think about scheduling your rides ahead which may cut down on wait times.
Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel(s) for the wedding?
We will be providing shuttle transportation to and from the venue for guests staying at the Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley ONLY. The vans should be picking up about every 30 to 40 minutes between 3:30pm and 5:00pm, and return shuttles between 8:00pm and 10:30pm.
Where should I bring/send wedding gifts?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with something more, you can have it delivered to our home address in Boulder Creek, CA as listed on the gift registry. A wedding card box will be at our reception.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
We are planning a buffet style dinner with options for both carnivores and herbivores. If anyone has unique sensitivities or concerns about severe allergies, please feel comfortable bringing supplemental food if needed.
